Project Overview

At the beginning of February, our team completed a full house move for Mr & Mrs Curtis in Bathampton. The move involved packing and dismantling their entire household, then transferring everything to secure storage for 12 weeks.

This was not a simple load-and-go move. The project required:

A complete packing service
Furniture dismantling
Specialist protection for artwork
Upright piano relocation
Secure storage in 12 individual pods

In total, the move filled 12 storage pods, equating to approximately 2,750 cubic feet (around 420 square feet) of household contents.

Full Professional Packing Service

We supplied a complete packing service, carefully boxing the entire property. Over 100 boxes were used to securely pack:

Kitchen contents
Clothing and personal items
Fragile household goods
Decorative pieces
Artwork

Every item was packed using high-quality materials to ensure maximum protection during transport and throughout the 12-week storage period.

Specialist Artwork Protection

Several large framed pictures required enhanced protection.

To safeguard the oil paintings, we used:

Acid-free tissue paper directly against the painted surface
Export wrap for complete protection
Waterproof outer layers
Sweat-resistant internal wrapping

This method protects artwork against moisture changes and temperature fluctuations during storage.

All pictures were further secured with padded covers and protective blankets.

Upright Piano Relocation

The move also included an upright piano, which required careful handling due to its weight and balance.

Our team:

Assessed access routes in advance
Used appropriate lifting techniques
Protected flooring and entryways
Secured the piano in transit

The piano was safely loaded, transported, and positioned within storage without issue.

Furniture Dismantling & Protection

As part of the service, we dismantled large furniture items where required. Each component was:

Wrapped in thick, padded blankets
Secured with protective carriers
Carefully positioned within the vehicle

All large items were fully protected during transport and during storage in the pods.

We ensure that nothing enters storage unprotected. Everything is either:

Covered with padded removal blankets
Secured in protective carriers
Wrapped for moisture resistance

Storage Solution

The contents were placed into 12 secure storage pods, totalling approximately 2,750 cubic feet.

Our pod storage system provides:

Secure containment
Controlled stacking and organisation
Reduced handling once stored
Protection from dust and moisture

Using individual pods minimises movement and reduces the risk of damage during storage.

The 12-week storage arrangement provided Mr & Mrs Curtis with flexibility while they finalised their next stage.

Team & Logistics

Due to the size and complexity of the move, we allocated:

3 staff members on Day One
5 staff members on Day Two

The larger team on the second day ensured efficient loading and safe transfer into storage.

By scaling manpower appropriately, we maintained both speed and care throughout the project.

The Outcome

The move was completed efficiently, with all contents safely packed, protected and secured in storage.

Key results:

100+ boxes professionally packed
Upright piano relocated safely
Artwork wrapped using specialist materials
12 storage pods filled and secured
No damage reported

The clients benefited from a fully managed service, allowing them to focus on their next steps without worrying about packing, transport, or storage logistics.
